Thanks Home Schoolers

Just a quick thanks for a great workshop at the JBFC that finished last week. Hope you all enjoyed/learned something. Here’s a favorite Faulkner quotation to send you into summer.

“I only write when I’m inspired, so I make sure I’m inspired every day at 9:00am”

*9:00 may be a bit early but you get the point.

Since we’re gonna talk about endings next week, you could watch LIttle Miss Sunshine. I know you have a bunch of writing to do and that should be priority… but…. Michael Arndt is a master of the ending.

I posted a talked of his a while back where he goes into detail about structuring an ending. You can find it here. Seriously though WRITE!!!!! And if you can come up with a working title for Tues. that would be great too.

If you didn’t get to watch Chinatown or are looking for a follow up I’d check out Who Framed Roger Rabbit. A classic blending of live action and animation and by the far the #1 animated noir ever.

Scripts Worth Reading: Adaptation -

Dare I say lesser Kaufman… still way better than most. Kaufman is really a fantasy writer if you think about it. He doesn’t use dragons or aliens, but he invents these fantastical worlds that seem to live right here in the real world.

Procrastination

Writers and Procrastination are like — wait, just let me read the wiki article on procrastination and look up some quotes from my favorite authors, but first I have to find the right music for this simile…
