Hope you all enjoyed/learned something. Here’s a favorite Faulkner quotation to send you into summer.

“I only write when I’m inspired, so I make sure I’m inspired every day at 9:00am”

*9:00 may be a bit early but you get the point.

Home Schoolers

I expect emails at any point before tomorrow morning…. I know you have a bunch of writing to do and that should be priority… but…. Michael Arndt is a master of the ending.

I posted a talked of his a while back where he goes into detail about structuring an ending. You can find it here. Seriously though WRITE!!!!! Kaufman is really a fantasy writer if you think about it. He doesn’t use dragons or aliens, but he invents these fantastical worlds that seem to live right here in the real world.

Procrastination

Writers and Procrastination are like — wait, just let me read the wiki article on procrastination and look up some quotes from my favorite authors, but first I have to find the right music for this simile…

Tenenbaums is one of my favorites. Obviously tone comes to mind, and this film is a perfect example of creating a color palette that really adds to the experience, but it’s also one of the best uses of narration I’ve seen in a very long time. Alec Baldwin reading that dry, super-insightful dialogue is reason enough enjoy this 119 page delight.

Celtx

Celtx:
The Celtx site has gotten a little needy lately and now they require an email and some logging in and whatnot.
